Olde World Map Update

My goodness! It has been a long time since I've updated this blog. My husband's illness kind of got to me, I guess, and I've been through some dark times. I stopped stitching and pretty much everything else. He's doing better now and I've picked up my needle again. I worked on this project randomly out of the pile I've got going and now I'm tired of it and ready to move on to something else for a bit. This one feels so slow.  It helps to document my progress because I actually get to see there is progress compared to my last post on it!

Blue Boy is finished!

It feels so great to finish a project, doesn't it?

He and Pinkie turned out to be much more detailed than I had anticipated. Here's a close-up of the detail in the feather in his hat.

And here he is with Pinkie.

I'm really happy with how they turned out.

Another Blue Boy Update

It seems like he is taking forever! But when I look at the actual dates, I see I'm actually making progress. His socks alone took several days!

Blue Boy Update

He's growing by leaps and bounds; these pics are about two weeks apart.

Very fiddly on 36 count and tons of quarter stitches, but I really like him.

A Finish!

Oh how I love a finish high!

I had some problems at the end that nearly drove me crazy but I persevered. Funny how skipping one little row can throw things into chaos.

You may recall this was inspired by William and Kate's wedding cake. I finished it before they've had kids and grandchildren. Woo hoo!

Beautiful Freebie

Ellen Maurer-Stroh is offering this free and beautiful antique sampler pattern in 2012 here:

I love this Berlin Woolwork type of design and I'll try to fit this in somehow because I think this colorful sampler is particularly lovely.

Time for an update

I'm listening to War and Peace on audiobook and having a wonderful time stitching White Wedding. What a wonderful way to start the new year. I hope everyone's year will be better than the last!
